love
This picture makes me smile.I feel so lucky every day to know that my kids have a great dad. No one is perfect, but to the boys, Mark is the best thing in the world. They regularly inform me of this with statements like "Dad is my favorite."
I never have to ask him to spend time with the kids. Or wonder if he'll take good care of them while I am working. He loves to take them on hikes and to the museum, and (damn, I love him for this) trips to the grocery store. He is a coach and a teacher and a music and geography guru.
"Mom, where is Mount Everest?"
"Uh, I don't know, Miller. Washington State, maybe? Ask your dad."
Our boys are lucky to have him.
(Oh, and the answer is Nepal, by the way. And I'm not as big of a dingbat as my original answer makes me sound. I hope.)

Dear Gretchen,
That is the sweetest picture, but never sell yourself short in the "favorite" category. There is no relationship more powerful than a mom and her son. With 3 in tow, you'll always be well taken care of...
I do love my brother for all he does with his children. What a guy...and he learned this part through you and the boys.
