Pity party, table of one

They say bad luck comes in 3's. Right now, I'm hoping it is ONLY in 3's.

Today my main external hard drive - where I back-up all of my client sessions and my own personal pictures - crashed. Completely unreadable by either my pc or my laptop. Luckily, I am meticulous about backing up every session in two places, so I also have copies of each session on CD. I've probably had 200-ish clients since I started my business in the fall of 2003. That is a lot of CD's.

So for the next month or so, I'll be taking each and every one of those CD's and burning them (in sets) to DVD. (I"m backing them up again so that they are in more than one place than on just one CD.) And of course, since I don't know my Mac well yet, I am fumbling my way around figuring out not only how to burn DVD's, but why it is taking so darn long for the files to copy from CD to folders on the Mac.

Sigh. I'm so sad. I am having a total pity party. I've already cried. This is so not my week. Tomorrow I promise I'll write about happy things:-)
