I'm blaming it on David Duchovny
Have you seen those Pedigree commercials that David Duchovny narrates? The ones about the shelter dogs (and the ones that make me get all teary every single time?)Like this one
or this one
I've been pestering Mark for a few months for another dog. Because that is what you need in your life when you have three wild kids and two cats and a dog and one house that you're trying to get on the market.
You need.... a puppy.
I picked out the most adorable, big-pawed, big-eared black lab* puppy at the shelter last week and dragged Mark kicking and screaming to see him. We brought him home last week and even though he is full of puppy-ness, he's doing pretty well. Sally is not overly thrilled in her new role as his own personal chew toy, but I have faith that soon they'll be the best of pals.
Oh, and his name? Harry. Because when you already have a Sally, you surely need a Harry.
*He looks mostly black lab, but the vet guesses there is a little smidge of something else thrown in. Like Great Dane.

Gretchen, as always I love reading your blog but today I can especially relate. I always get teary watching those commercials too. They're heartbreaking! And I've been trying for about a year now to get Jon to agree that Willow needs a playmate, but he will not budge! I'm glad that Harry has found a forever home at least. :)My best to all of you.
OMG!! I know those commercials!! I get teary at those sweet doggy faces.
