um, should I admit this?
Combine one part whiny 2-year old demanding to sit on mommy's lap and drink her coffee with one part mommy who needs to get some work done, and what do you get?
A mommy who PREPARES A FRESH CUP OF COFFEE FOR HER TWO-YEAR OLD and pours it into his sippy cup.
(Only to be noticed by 5-year old brother who does not have his own cup of coffee. Mommy prepares one more piping hot cup of Trader Joe's java, complete with cream and Splenda, and gives it to aforementioned kindergartner in ceramic mug.)
I'm sure there is SOME European country out there who does this, right? And it could be worse... like Mountain Dew in a baby bottle or something.
And because I know you are wondering, no, it was not decaf. I'll be back for an update when I'm gouging my eyes out at bedtime.

No judgement shall be passed here, since we figured out years ago that if we want to drink our coffee and read the Sunday morning paper in peace, the boy must have his own cup of coffee as well ;)

Coffee is good for kids -- you're just intuitive, Gretchen. J
Parlin New Jersey, February 16, 2006 -.Coffee consumption by sufferers of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD) may help to calm and focus their minds. No known rigorous medical studies have as yet been conducted to confirm anecdotal evidence, but parents of hyperactive children notice beneficial effects of coffee on their ADD afflicted children. Observations of the effectiveness of coffee in calming kids are numerous in ADD forums and discussion sites across the web.
as if I needed another reason to love you, Jane:-)

LOL!!
You know, my aunts used to give me coffee in my bottle when I was little because it made me sleepy. ;)
I mentioned this idea to a science teacher buddy on the boat yesterday, apparently it stunts growth she said. So, given that Mark is like 8 feet tall, you should be fine :)
I was guided here by Sarah and I lurk once in awhile... this post made me spit out MY coffee, I was laughing so hard. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and I guzzle coffee because "the baby wants it." Uh huh...
