retail therapy

Yesterday I did something I haven't done in ages. Shopped. By myself. With no stroller! Oh, it was glorious. As I'd predicted, my sessions were rained out yesterday. Mark stayed with all 3 boys and I went 30 minutes across town to the good mall in the rain (and for those who know me well, you know that driving in the rain is not something I normally do voluntarily.)

I've been in such a funk lately. Tired, stressed, and overworked. I really didn't even want to go shopping... Mark had to practically push me out the door. But on the way home, I felt like I'd actually been on a vacation. A few hours just to myself. I didn't have to tell someone to stop doing that to his brother. No noses to wipe or trips to the potty. And I was even able to buy myself some new clothes. Very cute, make me feel good about myself clothes from my favorite store. I also found Everett's first birthday outfit... the most precious blue jon-jon with a tiny green frog on the front from Strasburg. I can't wait to take his pictures in it.

I finished off my shopping adventure with a stop at Mrs. Fields for a cookie and Diet Coke.

It was REFRESHING. I must start taking me time more often.

Woo hoo! Isn't it amazing how refreshing trips out by yourself can be? Shopping without my 4 children ... they seem like mini-vacations to me, too. LOL I'm glad you had such a wonderful day yesterday. :)
