46

Today is Mark's birthday. He's had the week off so we've had lots of family time. Part of that time was spent with Mark painting our front hallway, and therefore family time morphed into Mark-being-a complete-grump-because-he-hates-painting time. But today we spent the whole day together, and it was really nice. We got biscuits for breakfast and then went to the flea market for awhile. The boys got badly-needed haircuts after that... you have never seen a child as excited as Gray is when he knows he is going to get a haircut - and a lollipop.

I took a few shots at the flea market. Mark and I CRACKED UP at the "authentic navaho jewelry"... if you look closely, you can see they are political and band buttons. (And I might add here that the spelling freak in me totally wanted to correct their spelling of "navaho.") Nothing screams authentic navajo (that is the correct spelling, by the way) like the one that had a big "F" in the center, and "the president" in tiny lettering at the bottom.

After the flea market and haircuts was a quick trip to Dick's Sporting goods for a pair of shoes for Mark that didn't make him look like A) a rapper or B) a nursing home resident. He was not successful in his quest. We finished the day off with a nice dinner out and Miller and I made a cake at home.

Happy birthday, Mark:-) Even when you're a grumpy painter, I still love you.

"Carry me!" takes on a whole new meaning when your 3 year old is over 50 pounds.

By the time we were ready to leave the flea market, the boys were getting tired and cranky. Especially Miller, who did not get the Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards he so desired.

I'm with Mark on being grumpy while painting. I'm REALLY cranky when I paint. I always wonder why I started this project when I could have HIRED someone to do this who could do a much better job.

I do it myself because I'm stubborn and think I'm saving money...I'm sure Peter thinks it would be better to hire someone, too.
