the countdown to one

Two weeks from tomorrow, Everett will turn one. ONE. I cannot believe that an entire year has passed. I remember being a kid and how lonnnnnnnnnng the school year would go (particularly if I had a scary teacher.)

I'm not really handling the idea of him not being a baby anymore that well. On the outside, he is still totally baby. My boys are baldies, and don't need their first haircuts until sometime around the second birthdays. Unlike Gray was as a baby (my chunky monkey who was wearing 2T's at 10 months old) Everett is pretty darn tiny. Many of his 6-9 month clothes still fit. I'm guessing at his 12 month check-up he's going to come in somewhere around 20 or 22 pounds. I have very small grandfathers, and along with the olive Hawaiian Tropic skin tone must have come the recessive little man gene.

I'm going to spend the next two weeks finishing up my picture-a-day project. I have no idea what I'm going to do with 365 consecutive days worth of pictures, but I know for a fact that they will be fun to look back on for many years to come.
