oh, if he would only stay this innocent
Miller is getting more and more adult in his thinking all of the time. His favorite channels are National Geographic and The History Channel and The Discovery Channel. He's already asked about the birds and the bees (and being the extra inquisitive child that he is, had to get the FULL version of things before being completely satisfied with the answers. It was about six months ago and I'm STILL traumatized by that little discussion.) But sometimes, his innocence still peeks through.
On the way home from school just a few minutes ago we were talking about how his day went. For some reason we got on the topic of lunch, and he told me about how two little boys in his class get "bagged lunch." Miller's school doesn't have a cafeteria so they all have to bring their own lunches, but I'm pretty sure that free and reduced lunches are some sort of federal standard and Miller's school has to offer them for those kids who qualify. So these two little boys are getting subsidized lunches, and Miller said, "I know why they get bagged lunch, mom. It is because their moms are REALLY busy."
Oh, I loved it. I love that innocence. And of course, I'd never correct him in a million years. :-)
