because we didn't have enough on our plates...
Let's see....It has been so long it is hard to know where to begin! The picture on the left is Everett a few weeks ago on his very first day of preschool. Like the "e" shirt? I thought it was awfully cute:-) He's adjusting well to the two-day two's class.
Gray started kindergarten (private kindergarten at his preschool) and despite saying that he's nervous every day (and "but what if I need to poop when I'm there????") seems to be loving it. Word on the street is that he is actually talking - in his loud voice - while he is at school. This is a BIG step. His new favorite thing is cooking. He likes to help Mark make dinner, and the other night served up a mean dish of mac 'n' cheese. He continues to flap his arms but doesn't really show other signs of autism, so Mark and I are constantly back and forth on whether to get him tested.
The adjustment back to school has been tough for Miller, though he LOVES his teacher, Sarah. She is the perfect match for my complex boy... we are so lucky that Miller was put in her class. We're going through some preliminary ADD testing for him again this year.
And perhaps the biggest news is that we're buying a house. It is not perfect or brand new, and is actually a little ugly. But we like the half-acre yard, we like it's funkiness, we like that we'll have a little more space to spread out. The boys will still share rooms, but we'll be adding a full two-car garage, a sun porch, a family room, and a big workshop/office space. It needs some TLC but we think we'll get it there. It was built in 1964 and as long as all of the inspections check out, we'll be moving within the next few months (closing date: Oct. 23rd.) And the best part is that it isn't far from where we live now, so our commutes to and from the kids' schools won't really change. Keep your fingers crossed for a smooth home-buying process:-)
I guess that is it in our little lives. Work is unbelievably busy for me. Stressful like always. Tonight I taught a photography class for a financial planning firm (they have a little event for their clients each month,) and it was lots of fun... a good break from client sessions. My fall is pretty much already booked up and as much as I dread this time of year for that reason, I also am counting my lucky stars that I get to do something I love as my job. And my boss ROCKS! :-)
