next year I'm hiring someone

Ahhh... it is that time again.

Christmas card picture time.

I really don't know why I do this to myself, why I don't just go down to Target and buy a few boxes of cutesie pie snowman cards, sign our names, and send them off. Every year I try to get that *perfect* Christmas card picture. You know how many years I've succeeded?

Zero.

I've decided that is because there IS NO SUCH THING AS THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS CARD PICTURE. So we will be the family whose card always consists of only outtakes. That card where, when opened up by the recipient, the wildness of my children actually jumps right off the paper.

Here are a few of today's attempts. I have no clue what I'm doing for our card this year. If you're on our list, I can assure you it will not be a picture of three angelic children sitting quietly while smiling at the camera. Then again, what fun would that be? That isn't real life. Or at least I like to tell myself that.

gretchen - love the backdrop. it's really cool. as for "the perfect card" - you really DON'T want to be like the other millions of suburbanites do you?

send the picture of the wildness, the craziness - people will love it, you'll make them laugh and it might even be the one they keep - just so they can smile!

mine, well, my soon to be six year old gave himself a black eye over thanksgiving - twice! and yes, i still took the picture!

You always have great cards! And you remember my card from last year, right? The one where Nina was sobbing? And you received it in January?
