crazy

The title of this post describes the current state of our lives, of course.

A little update:

Me: working 394 hours a week, way too many clients booked for the next 2 months straight, glad I'm busy because it would be way worse to have no clients

Mark: coordinating the inspections, dealing with the realtor, etc. for the new house, while hiring a painter/roofer/etc. for our current house to get it ready to sell. He does these things while taking care of three wild men, doing school pick-up/drop-off, taking kids to appointments (there is ALWAYS at least one per week in addition to Gray's twice-weekly speech therapy), grocery shopping, cooking meals, and providing general household crisis management

Miller: doing his best to perfect the 13-year old PMS girl routine, by proclaiming regularly that we are mean parents and that Gray is a total idiot. Duh.

Gray: delighting us by finally writing his name, knowing all of his letters, and drawing pictures in school. Today at the park he made friends with a smaller kid, helped him pass a toy to a kid hanging on the monkey bars ("I'm big - I'm five. I can do it!") and had the time of his life hanging out with some older kids. All was fun and games until Gray made the critical mistake of pushing Miller. Gray, in return, ended up with a face - and mouth - full of mulch from the playground as retribution and on the receiving end of a threat to get "kicked in the crotch." Aaaah, boys...

Everett: Darling, funny, naughty, and tiny. He is putting several words together now and giving us kisses is his favorite hobby.

That's us right now. I'm looking forward to January. We'll be in our new house, the Christmas rush will be over, and I'm going to be parked in front of the gas fireplace with a stack of magazines. Paradise.

(Today's picture: The view coming out of my Grandma Dawn's farm driveway in Iowa. So simple and beautiful.)

I about peed myself over "kicked in the crotch." Sounds like such a NORTHERNER. (I think crotch is a northern word, like wicked.)

I didn't know that "crotch" was tied to any geographical part of the US. I was just excited he didn't scream "nuts" or "balls" across the playground.
