light at the end 'o the tunnel

A year ago today I posted that I was excited because almost all of my work was done... just three more orders to deliver. And I remember last year thinking how it would all change NEXT year, how I wouldn't do that to myself, because it was just too much. So I sit here tonight with about 8 orders behind me, waiting to be packed up and shipped, contracts written, and about 5 more orders waiting to come in because someone has an absolute inability to say "no."

But even having said that, I DO see the light at the end of the tunnel. I promised myself and my clients that all holiday orders would be shipped out by Dec. 15th (this Friday), and I meant it. I'm so close to a few days of freedom I can almost taste it.

So I'm making a public statement NOW, I'm vowing that from October through December next year, I will not be a crazy woman. A bad friend. A grumpy wife. A snappy, yelling mom. That girl who is still Christmas shopping on December 24th.

For all of you who stick through this with me every year, thank you. I love you for it:-) (Oh, Maaaaaaaarrrrrk. Are you reading this?)

(And a newish picture of my daughter Everett. That bald little human tornado who was dressed in an absolute, no doubt 'bout it boy outfit today, and got the comment "Well, isn't she just a precious little girl!" I'm seriously getting the kid an "I'm not a girl" t-shirt.)
